iQ signs channel partners for Huawei

IT Consulting and Technology Solutions Provider, Informatica Qatar (iQ) recently partnered with two new channel partners Saudia Hyper and Al Anees Group to distribute Huawei mobile phones in Qatar. Huawei has chosen iQ to exclusively distribute and provide after-sales service for the IDEOS, IDEOS X5 and other future Huawei mobile phones launching in Qatar. IDEOS is a mid-priced multimedia and social networking focused phone, while the IDEOS X5 is a higher-end unit with a 3D user interface aimed at tech enthusiasts and professionals. Both units are powered by the Android operating system.

Webcom signs Huawei for Sub Saharan Africa

South Africa based leading ICT solutions company, The Webcom Group recently signed up an reseller agreement with Huawei to sell range of products and solutions like, video ATMs, networking, data centre and telepresence solutions in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa. Commenting on the tie-up Pieter le Roux, Technical Director at The Webcom Group, said, “These four mainline product segments broaden our scope of offering, allowing us to deliver a Tier 1 brand to our customers. Huawei recently announced the purchase of leading System Integrator and Solution Provider, International Turnkey Systems (ITS) Business Support System (BSS) division. Huawei believes the combination of capabilities and experience of the two firms will create a one-stop shop with world-class, customized ICT solutions for customers in the Middle East and Africa region. “Huawei will continue to invest to grow the business in the region creating local employment as well as new opportunities for existing employees,” said Steven Yi, Huawei.

Huawei announced the commercial launch of the world's first plug and link data card, the HiLink E353 which automatically connects users to the Internet in as little as 15 seconds after the datacard is inserted into the USB port, without the need for a tedious dial-in process, driver installation or manual configuration. Huawei recently unveiled a new 7-inch tablet “MediaPad,” the first tablet in the world to run this version of Android 3.2, which is tailor made for devices that sport smaller designs. Huawei’s MediaPad packs a 217-pixel per inch IPS capacitive touch panel. The tablet is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm processor and is equipped with 8GB of memory. The memory can be upgraded further via a micro-SD card slot. HSPA+ 14.4Mbps and high-speed WiFi 802.11n for internet connectivity.
