Axis Communications, today unveiled the world's smallest, ceiling mount pan/tilt/zoom dome cameras AXIS M50 in the region. AXIS M50 PTZ Dome Network Camera Series offers business managers a highly discreet and affordable solution for remotely monitoring indoor areas, such as stores, banks, hotels, office lobbies, restaurants and warehouses, to more effectively manage one or more locations and improve security. With a sleek and compact design, AXIS M50 cameras are only 13 cm (5.1”) wide and 5.6 cm (2.2”) high, enabling discreet, high-quality 360° surveillance in HDTV. A built-in microphone also allows managers to use the audio detection function to monitor for unusual noises during off-hours to trigger a security alarm.

Aptec apponited as the sole distributor for Symantec in Pakistan

Aptec Holding, one of the largest distributors in the region expanded its relations with Symantec with signing of an sole distribution agreement to distribute Symantec products in Pakisten. To commemorate agreement with Aptec launched roadshows in Karachi and Lahore, in association with Symantec, which were attened by more than 120 channel executives from 60 channel resellers to train resellers on Symantec products and solutions. Rizwan Ahmed, Country Manager, Aptec Pakistan also participated actively in the roadshows.

Infected computers on rise in the region, says Trend Micro

Trend Micro said that the year 2011 witnessed a dramatic increase in the number of infected PCs in the Middle East, because businesses and individuals are still failing to take adequate security precautions. Trend Micro's Smart Protection Network ™ technology can see how many computers are active on the internet and the number of infected computers across the Middle East is on the rise. In 2010, there were more than 3,050,032 infected machines that Trend Micro saw as active across the region - a 44 percent rise from 2009. This year, already, the region has seen more than 674,938 compromised machines. Whereas, in 2010 GCC witnessed a 46% of rise in compromised machines.
