Dubai Economy to fight counterfeiting with AI

Dubai is adopting a new technology based on artificial intelligence to fight counterfeit products in the city. The Department of Commercial Compliance and Consumer Protection (CCCP) at Dubai Economy is using a technology developed by the US company ‘Entrupy’, to help detect counterfeit goods sold across shops in Dubai.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology today announced a major foray into building talent and human capital in artificial intelligence, AI, by unveiling three initiatives, the Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Systems Institute, AI Institute; a Programme in Artificial Intelligence; and the Mohammed Bin Zayed International Robotics Challenge, MBZIRC, that will be held in February 2020.
