Sennheiser readies for its largest set of product launches at CABSAT 2019

Ease of use, portability and comfort will be key themes as Sennheiser heads to CABSAT this month with the company set to have the regional launch for its new SK 6212 mini-bodypack transmitter and XSW-D Audio for Video microphone series at the show.

Mig Cardamone, Director of Sales and Marketing at Sennheiser Middle East

The audio specialist will also unveil its new HD 300 and HMD 300 series of headphones and headsets, and the NDH 20, Neumann’s first-ever professional studio headphone. Rounding up this impressive list launches, Sennheiser will offer the region’s first hands-on experience of the new IE400 PRO and IE500 PRO in-ear monitors (IEMs).

As in previous editions, Sennheiser expects the show to garner significant interest around its Digital 6000 and Digital 9000 solutions, both of which are compatible systems for the new SK 6212. These wireless microphone systems have come to serve as benchmarks for the industry with leading regional broadcasters including Dubai Media Incorporated, Al Jazeera, Alhurra, and Sharjah Media Corporation all having successful deployments.

“This is the single largest set of simultaneous product launches we’ve ever conducted in the Middle East, something we’re very excited about. CABSAT enables us to not only unveil these innovations, but also conduct in-depth trainings to familiarize our broadcast customers and partners with the rich features and capabilities these new systems offer,” said Mig Cardamone, Director of Sales and Marketing at Sennheiser Middle East.

Small Package, Big Benefits
Sennheiser’s SK 6212 is a compact transmitter that will be an ideal choice for any broadcast, theatre, musical or live audio show that requires an inconspicuous, ultra-compact and lightweight package with the same reliable and spectrum-efficient transmission as that offered by the other Digital 6000 transmitters.

With comfortably rounded corners and edges, the mini-bodypack is about 63 x 47 x 20 millimeters in size and together with the battery weighs just 112g. As with all Digital 6000 transmitters, the SK 6212 can be synced via IR, saving time and effort – especially in live environments. The flexible antenna is detachable and field replaceable, and its removable BA 62 lithium-polymer battery offers a spectacular operating time of up to 12 hours.

Headphones and Headsets
With the 300 PRO series, Sennheiser has perfectly blended precise sound reproduction with outstanding comfort. The headphones have been given a new fork design that ensures their contact pressure is evenly distributed over the entire ear pad, ensuring both increased comfort and excellent sealing against outside noise. The 300 PRO series’ detachable cables offer improved protection against handling noise, thanks to a small series of coils that acoustically decouple the cable from the headset. The headphone come with rugged, bendable and twistable headbands and customizable nameplates to feature company logos on the ear cups.

Renowned for its legendary studio microphones and monitors, Neumann has now expanded its product portfolio with the NDH 20. This closed-back studio headphone combines excellent isolation with a carefully balanced sound image and outstanding resolution. It is ideally suited to monitoring, editing and mixing tasks, even in loud and noisy environments. The NDH 20’s 38-mm drivers with high-gauss neodymium magnets ensure high sensitivity and low distortion, meaning the NDH 20 does not need a dedicated headphone amplifier and maintains its impressive sound characteristics even when connected to mobile devices such as laptop computers.

Commenting on his company’s 12th consecutive appearance at CABSAT, Cardamone said, “The exhibition covers the entire spectrum of the broadcast industry from content creation through to production and distribution. This therefore makes it possible for us to engage with a broad range of industry stakeholders and raise awareness of our brand and the new solutions we have introduced in the region over the course of the last year. CABSAT also enables us to keep our ear to the ground and gain invaluable insight into what our customers want and the trends that are shaping our industry,” concluded Mig.

As with previous editions, Sennheiser will co-participate with its pro-audio distributor for the UAE, Venuetech and will be present on their stand D4-10 in Hall 4.
