CIOMajlis visits Sweden and Denmark on Innovation Tour

CIOMajlis, a Smartworld initiative that gathers the UAE’s leading Chief Information Officers, embarked on its third annual Innovation Tour from October 20 to 27. The group traveled to Sweden and Denmark in its mission to explore the technology capitals of the world.

“Continuing Dubai’s aspiration to become the smartest city in the world, we are committed to learn from countries with remarkably advanced technology initiatives and digital growth. Previous Innovation Tours have taken us to Silicon Valley in the USA and South Korea – our recent expedition took us to the digitally-agile countries of Scandinavia”, says Chairman of CIOMajlis, Ahmad Al Mulla.

CIOMajlis’ itinerary in Sweden and Denmark included educational visits to national technology thought leaders. Companies and organizations included Ericsson, Epicenter, Einride, Produktion2030, Elekta, Fintech Hub, Volvo Trucks, Lindholmen Science Park, Green Gothenburg, Zenuity, Drive Sweden, Doll Living Lab, Copenhagen Solution Lab and Maersk.

Discussion topics touched on technology’s inextricable connection to the future of everyday living. CIOMajlis’ Innovation Tour explored the practical opportunities in a cashless society, the dawn of industry 4.0, AI’s role in urban mobility, digitally-enhanced citizen experiences and much more.

The group delved into new approaches to mobility and developing autonomous vehicles by leveraging the innovation ecosystem, intelligent urban development at the DOLL Lab and uncovered Copenhagen’s secret to leading a clean, sustainable and climate-friendly life.

“We delightfully welcomed the delegation from the UAE, and showcased some of the reasons Sweden has become a global hub for digital innovation and disruptive technology. We hope that the trip can spark ideas, alter mindsets and ignite partnerships that support the UAE in its strive for continued innovation.”  Massoud Biouki, Business Sweden.
