Sebastien Pavie, Enterprise & Cybersecurity Director for META at Gemalto

Is this your first time at GITEX Technology Week or have you participated before? What is the reason behind your continued participation?

Gemalto has been a long-standing participant in GITEX, having exhibited at the event for over 15 years, demonstrating our commitment to the event.

GITEX Technology Week is a great platform to connect with the technology ecosystem and is a huge drive behind the region’s smart digital transformation. After over a decade of participation, we value the importance of having a presence in order to best leverage our technologies and solutions through our demos. We are excited to be part of this immersive and interactive trade show again this year, and look forward to exchanging knowledge and helping to further enhance Dubai’s standing as one of the leaders of innovation.

What are you most excited about GITEX Technology Week and what are your expectations from this year’s participation?

GITEX is a great platform to network with our partners and showcase our core technologies and has always been. This year, we are most excited about the opportunity to demonstrate how enterprises can leverage and benefit from our trusted solutions such as key, access and identity management and data encryption. Trust and security are becoming increasingly important in today’s progressively digital world, and as we know, data breaches are increasingly on the rise. Consequently, we expect cybersecurity to be a major focus at this year’s GITEX.

Do you have standalone presence at the event or will you be showcasing with your partner(s)? Can you give us details of your hall and booth at the event?

This year, Gemalto will not be present on any distributors’ stands and will instead have a dedicated stand. You can visit Gemalto at GITEX at Hall 1, stand 114. Nevertheless, two of Gemalto’s distributors in the region, Starlink and Exclusive Networks will be present in the same hall.

What are you showcasing at GITEX Technology Week 2017?

At this year’s GITEX Technology Week, Gemalto will be focusing on innovation and bringing new solutions to the region, including:

  • Identity and Access Management solution: SafeNet Trusted Access
  • Cloud-based data protection platform: SafeNet Data Protection on Demand

In addition to these new solutions, we will also have live product demos available for Gemalto’s data protection portfolio, focusing on some of our core technologies:

  • SafeNet Authentication Service – Multi-Factor Authentication
  • SafeNet Mobile PKI – Bluetooth Authentication Solution
  • SafeNet Virtual KeySecure with SafeNet ProtectFile and SafeNet ProtectDB – Data-at-rest encryption
  • Safenet High Speed Encryption – Wide Area Network Encryption

Do you have any plans to launch new products, solutions or technologies at GITEX Technology Week this year?

We are using this year’s GITEX to launch the industry’s first global cloud-based on-demand encryption as a service platform with SafeNet Data Protection On-Demand (DPoD). This platform delivers a full spectrum of data security-as-a-service offerings including encryption, key management, hardware security modules and tokenisation to protect sensitive information across a wide range of uses cases such as Big Data, IoT, digital payments, transactions and compliance.

At GITEX, we will also focus on our SafeNet Trusted Access, a cloud-based access management solution that simplifies and secures access to cloud applications and helps companies mitigate risk with integrated single sign-on, multi-factor authentication and risk-based analytics.
