We’re almost there – two days and the planet’s biggest hardcore tech extravaganza will throw its doors wide open. Held in Taipei every year, Computex is THE tech trade show to visit if you are a nerd, geek, tech enthusiast, and the likes.

We will be running around Taipei an getting you info on the latest PC products and components. Last year was relatively fruitful, thanks to the VR explosion. Several PC brands rolled out high-end GPUs or affordable ones capable of running VR.

Acer recently announced a refreshed range of PCs and notebooks at its [email protected] event in New York earlier this month. The company is expected to show off these products at Computex as well, which include the Nitro 5 gaming laptop and the Acer Spin 1 2-in-1 laptop, along with new Android tablets with Quantum Dot displays.

AMD has already announced a press conference around Computex. The company will show off its new Vega graphics chip architecture at the event. After the success it has had with its Ryzen range of processors, we expect the company to talk a bit more about its Ryzen 9 Threadripper series. The new chips will compete with Intel’s supposed Core i9 line of high-end chips. Threadripper will come rocking 16-core processors that may be slower than Ryzen 7 CPUs in frequency, but far more ready to handle multifaceted workloads.

Asus will also be holding its press conference around Computex, but we are yet to hear any details of what it might have up its sleeve. We are guessing the company will throw the spotlight on its gaming brand, Republic of Gamers (ROG). Rumours are also abound about its next Zenbook Flip, the UX370, and a gaming laptop powered by AMD’s Ryzen chip.

Intel is expected to focus on its Core i9 lineup of processors at Computex. According to various sources, this new series of Intel CPUs will include new Skylake-X and Kaby Lake-X models ranging from octa-core to dodeca-core dies.

Nvidia meanwhile is keeping its secrets close to heart. But that hasn’t stopped the rumour-mill from spinning. Various news outlets suggest that Nvidia will focus on its Volta GPU architecture throughout Computex 2017.

Channel Post will be at Computex Taipei throughout the show and we will bring you the latest and greatest in tech. Stay tuned!
