ICT major Huawei, has announced that Charles Yang has been appointed president and will be responsible for the company’s business in the Middle East.

Yang will oversee the company’s operations, guiding its strategic direction, leading its business development and customers’ relations to drive wider adoption of the Huawei’s technology innovations.

Shi Yaohong, outgoing president, Huawei Middle East commented: “The ICT industry is currently transforming with increasing levels of digitisation across every industry sector. Yang brings unparalleled industry knowledge and great experience within the regional market and we are delighted to welcome him aboard.”

“Yang will add strategic value to our team following his years of experience working within the ICT industry overseas and across the Middle East. We believe that under his leadership, Huawei will continue its strong growth pattern in the region,” Yaohong added.

Yang joined Huawei in 1999 and has over 16 years of experience in the telecoms industry playing a key role in many of Huawei’s milestone global projects.

Over the past three years, Yang has been active in Saudi Arabia, supporting the development of the telecoms industry in the Kingdom.
