Westcon Group Middle East, a value added distributor (VAD) for convergence, infrastructure, mobility, and security solutions in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), has signed a distribution agreement with Aruba Networks.

Westcon said the move will reinforce its security solutions portfolio, with the addition of Aruba’s range of access management, network infrastructure and mobility application solutions.

“Westcon have built a strong security portfolio over the years. However with the changing environment of the mobile workspace, there was a gap, and that was providing that secure mobile access. By partnering with Aruba, we think we’ve significantly bridged the gap and by partnering with the eco-system vendors as well, we have some great solutions now,” said Steve Lockie, group managing director, Westcon. “There is more opportunity for resellers to now sell to the new mobile environments with very secure and integrated offerings, right down to the mobile devices. I strongly believe Aruba is going to be a significant opportunity for our resellers in the region.”

Osama Alhaj-Issa‎, channel director, Middle East and Turkey, Aruba added: “Aruba has some strong products lined up for release in the near future. While the demand for mobile devices and tablets is rising, we are still at the beginning of the growth trajectory, and I believe there is massive opportunity for us in this sector. Westcon has moved at the right time to bridge this gap, and with this partnership there is a big role we will play together and serve the mobility market.”
