Networking and wireless products maker TP-LINK Technologies Co Ltd,has signed an alliance with power retailer Carrefour in Qatar.

The move to partner with Carrefour, said the vendor, will not only cement TP-LINK’s presence in Qatar’s retail segment, but will also open opportunities for its products to be sold in Carrefour’s stores in the Gulf state.

TP-LINK said the alliance with Carrefour is part of a broader strategy to develop its retail business in the region and comes at a time when it is experiencing phenomenal growth in the networking and wireless solutions business in the region.

Lucas Jiang, sales manager, GCC, Power Retailer and E-Retailer, TP-LINK Middle East, said the company has been garnering momentum in the retail segment and partnering with Carrefour will benefit consumers in Qatar as they will have access to TP-LINK’s broad product range. “Carrefour is a household name in the consumer electronics retail space in the Middle East and North Africa and signing the company to resell our products augurs well with our strategy to grow the retail business in the Middle East,” Jiang said.

Jiang added that TP-LINK as a SOHO and SMB networking solutions brand, the company is delighted to be working with Carrefour in Qatar. “The networking market in Qatar is experiencing unprecedented growth with the many infrastructure projects that are being implemented in the country,” he noted. “We believe with good cooperation, we both can have a profitable business partnership that benefits us and Carrefour.”

Jiang explained that the company is upbeat Carrefour now has the opportunity to resell a wide portfolio of networking products to the consumers and the business can only continue to grow from here. “We are hoping, TP-LINK becomes the top selling networking brand in Qatar’s retail sector just like we have done in the UAE,” he said. “With the high quality products, excellent post-sales service and good product training to promoters, we are optimistic that we will be able to develop the business in Qatar to benefit both parties,” he remarked.

Jiang pointed out that TP-LINK has conducted research in the local market and selected the most suitable items from its broad array of products to ensure that these fit in with the consumers’ desire in the Qatar market. “Through this alliance with Carrefour, we will be providing consumers several networking products and wireless solutions. “At the start of this year, we decided to focus on developing the business with power retailers across MENA and having Carrefour as one of the key retailer partners in Qatar will go a long way in helping us achieve the goal of becoming the number one SOHO and SMB networking solutions brand,” he said.
