Qualcomm gets new executive vice president

Qualcomm Incorporated has announced the appointment of Michelle Sterling as executive vice president of human resources (HR), joining Qualcomm’s executive committee.

The appointment comes after the retirement of Dan Sullivan, executive vice president of Human Resources. Sterling’s appointment will be effective May, 2015 and she will report directly to Steve Mollenkopf, CEO, Qualcomm Incorporated.

The company said outgoing Human Resources head, Sullivan will serve in an advisory role to support the transition until his retirement at the end of the year.

Sterling joined Qualcomm in 1994 and throughout her tenure has provided HR leadership, strategy and support to nearly all areas of the company, including manufacturing, corporate functions and business divisions, as well as new and emerging businesses.

During this time, Sterling has also worked on complex business transactions including acquisitions, joint ventures and divestitures
