Telecoms euipment vendor Huawei has said it is ready to find ways to assist the Botswana government on tightening cyber security.

Huawei Botswana CEO Gao Wenli said in Gaborone that cyber security was one of the features the company is offering to governments.

“We believe it is only by working together internationally, as vendors, customers and policy and law makers that we will make a substantial difference in addressing the global cyber security challenge,” Wenli said.

In subsaharan Africa, Huawei operates in Angola, Botswana, Cameroon, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritius, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, The Democratic Republic of Congo, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
