Veeam successfully increases footprint in UAE in 2014

Veeam Software, innovative provider of solutions that deliver availability for the modern data center, has successfully increased its footprint across the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2014 with more than 50 percent increase in total bookings revenue and over 90 percent increase in new customers at the end of the second quarter compared with the same period last year. The company made significant inroads in the region this year pioneering its Always-On Business concept. This approach proved to be successful and resulted in major customer wins, such as the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) and ARGAS.

“We considered several solutions but only one offered the scalability, flexibility and capacity planning capabilities we need as a growing enterprise. Veeam saves us a lot of time and helps with business continuity,” said Galal Eltahan, Senior Manager, IT Operations, Information Technology, DWTC.

Veeam Software has seen double digit growth in its industry segment. “So far 2014 has been a great year for Veeam in the UAE,” said Gregg Petersen, Regional Director, Middle East and SAARC, Veeam Software. “We have made partnerships that are instrumental to strengthening our position, not only in the UAE but in the GCC, and we have seen the fruits of this labour. We currently have over 700 clients across the Middle East region and we are confident that this figure will increase.”

Veeam recently announced its results for Q2 2014 in the UAE, a 90 percent increase in new customers compared with the same period last year. Veeam also expanded its channel outreach by introducing a new programme, to be launched in the Middle East starting at the end of September 2014, aimed at educating and certifying partners and end-user engineers as Veeam Certified Engineers (VMCEs).

Distribution partner – Aptec, an Ingram Micro company, will be selected as Veeam Authorized Education Center (VMAEC) to deliver fee-based education courses with a curriculum developed by Veeam. Every class includes both lectures and hands-on elements that allow the students to learn about the technology and its configuration, and then experience the configuration in labs based on real-world customer scenarios.

“Veeam has one of the most well defined and effective partner program amongst IT vendors operating in MENA region,” said Ankit Rajpal, Veeam Product Manager at Aptec Dubai, Technology Distributor. “Veeam understands what partners need and provides a lot of support in order to develop them.”

With the global customer growth, more than 11,000 new customers were added in Q2. And with more than 111,500 customers overall, Veeam now protects over 6.5 million virtual machines around the world. This customer momentum has also led to Veeam’s first flagship event, Veeam ON: The World’s Premier Data Center Availability Event, which will take place during October 6–9, 2014, in Las Vegas, NV. Veeam will bring together industry-leading experts, Veeam customers and partners, who will have the opportunity to learn first-hand how to enable the Always-On Business. More than 20 Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors, including Ingram Micro Inc. will join Veeam inaugural conference.
