Buffalo launches new multi-drive superspeed USB 3.0 drives

Buffalo launched its new USB 3.0 multi-drive products in addition to its existing range of USB-attached storage products. The new range of USB 3.0 DriveStation Duo and DriveStation Quad will be available in 3 variants. The USB 3.0 DriveStation Duo is a unit that features twin RAID enable drives in two bays accessible via a USB 3.0 that connects and transfers data using 5Gbps USB 3.0 and 480MBps USB 2.0 connections to the computer. The USB 3.0 DriveStation Quad, on the other hand, sports four RAID enabled drives in four bays. The DriveStation Duo is enabled with RAID 0 for performance and RAID 1 for redundant storage, while the DriveStation Quad is supplied with drives with RAID 0 for performance and RAID 5 or 10 for redundant storage.

Backwards compatible with USB 2.0 ports, the new USB 3.0 DriveStations give the user an option to utilise the high storage capacities. The Buffalo DriveStation Duo USB 3.0 is available in 2, 4 and 6 TB variations, while the Buffalo DriveStation Quad USB 3.0 is available in 4, 8 and 12 TB variations.
